Elementary II Classroom Pajama Drive
Good Afternoon Everyone,
The children are bringing home flyers today about the Scholastic Reading Club Pajama Drive. This is an annual event that benefits the Pajama Program. The Pajama Program is a nonprofit organization that supplies pajamas to children living in orphanages, shelters, foster care, and group homes. Scholastic matches a book with each pair of pajamas that are donated through December 14th.
The guidelines for the pajamas are:
- The pajamas must be brand new.
- The pajamas may be in all sizes.
- The pajamas must be in complete sets or nightgowns.
- The pajamas must be manufactured as pajamas, so they will be flame-retardant and safe.
*You may donate fuzzy socks and/or slippers to go with the pajamas, too. It would be wonderful for these children to have something to keep their feet warm!
The pajama drive is a service learning, language arts, and math project all rolled into one for the 2nd-4th graders. The children will be making posters, speaking with the other classes, and graphing the number of pajamas brought in by each class. This is a wonderful opportunity for our children to be active in helping others their age!
Thank you for your support.
